What i liked and disliked in Obama's speech to the Islamic world

Today president Obama gave his speech to islamic world ,it was a nice speech that aims to have a new beggining with muslims,

and that is my impression about his speech :

This is what i liked in his speech :

-  the way he began the speech with  islam’s greeting  ” Al salam alaykum “

- his words about respecting Al Azhar and Cairo university and the role they played for a long time to spread knowledge and culture early in the world

-his words about tolerance in Islam and how islam and muslims reject killing innocents and terrorism

-quoting from the holy Quran more than one time

-talking about great islamic examples like what muslims made in Andalusia and how islam deal’s peacefully with non muslims

- admitting that america after the 11′th of september has done wrong things

-his words about democracy and democratic governments and the reflection of democracy on people .

-when he said that america knows how did palestenians suffer

alot – it’s just words but sounds like a new message-.

-when he talked about muslim women ,i really liked when he talked about veiled women and that he rejects to consider them different or

treat them differently .

- when he said that it’s better to look for the common interests between muslims and west rather than looking for our differences

———————————–

And what i didn’t like :

- he talked too much about how jews suffered and that looked if what they had in the past is an excuse for what they are doing with palestenians today .

-when he talked about the palestenian problem with israel his words were if they both the palestinains and israelis  has the same suffer

and both have to work to solve the problem but in fact israel “the criminal” can’t be equaled with the victim “palestine”

-when he talked about having two countries palestine beside israel he didn’t clarify how can this be achieved

-about nuclear energy that is used for non-peacful reasons he said that he will work to make all nations get rid of it

but does this include israel also ?

Conclusion : What he said about Islam is a result of a deep understanding of our religion Islam and this understanding must be spreaded over the world ,i mean that he didn’t say some thing we don’t know in our religion but  some thing we nowadays don’t remind the world with  ,some things we  have  like culture ,islamic civilzation ,the value of work in islam ,the value of learning,tolerance.. etc ,we not only need persons like obama to change the way the west sees islamic world but also we need to remind them by our work .

what Obama said was considered as a new message that can be used to work to achieve peace that maintains our rights .

there is no doubt that the speech has gained the trust of alot of muslims and i hope it can be translated into actual actions .

despite every thing it was a great step from Obama and he remains one of the best persons nowadays that have an increasing success

,a very good charisma and looks for change .

you can watch the speech here
